Fallout: Eberron: Mad Edition
It isn’t easy being a big deal and it’s even more so, when you just think you are. Despite humble beginnings, Eglath arose to be the finest, most benevolent, wise and powerful ruler the Nine Realms had ever seen. Eglath awoke from his most pleasant slumber, wiping the grit from his eyes, as he once again gazed upon his celestial prison. “Time never existed in this realm or it at least seems not to” Eglath muttered to himself. He felt like he had been imprisoned for centuries, floating endlessly. Thinking back to his time as the Ruler of The Nine Realms, the only dream he has had during his tiMe imprisoned, he recalled his adoring people crowding in his court to be blessed by the all powerful Eglath. He smiled to himself remembering such things. Egalth lurched as memories ravaged his mind, the feelings of remorse, terror, rage, and coldness flooded him, remembering his trial and execution gone awry. the intended fate For Eglath was to be wiped from existence but as his body and spirit were being torn apart, a misspoken word was uttered in the rituAl. Banishing him to a fate of eternal imprisonment in a dragon realm. Just as suddenly as it begun, Eglath slumped, forcing himself to think of his memories as King, rather than the pain he suffered in his execution. His most loyal and trusted adviser, Franz, taught him to win people with eloquence and flattery. Eglath preferred brute force, but he conceDed the point to his adviser. He took in all that was taught him, during his mighty reign and all the pride that goes with it.
Spinning and tumbling about through the air, Eglath cursed the wind as an ancient elder dragon conversed with Kalinth, a particularly ambitious young black dragon with an unquenchable thirst for power, strife, and human bloodshed. Kalinth hissed as another of his elders shook off his radical ideas for the fate of the mortal realm. Eglath tried swimming through the air, to wage war on his primary abuser but Kalinth sailed off into the distance with hardly a second glance or the usual “fun”. Kalinth wasn’t the leader type but he had a cunning mind, and sharp enough to gather a small contingent of followers, as well as worshipers in the mortal realm. Eglath started to absent mindedly chant bits of words Kalinth had recited during his talk of “filthy humans”. As he spun through the air, chanting for what seemed like days, Eglath suddenly shook violently with magical power. screaming, he unleashed it blindly. A pale beam of balefire erupted from him and surged toward Kalinth. being surprised and unable to dodge it, Kalinth roared with agony as his left side sizzled and melted. Swelling with pride and a small amount of fear, Eglath let out a battle cry as Kalinth charged him like a hurricane, bellowing poisonous smog and roaring with rage. As Kalinth’s jaws opened for the infuriating morsel, Eglath was ripped towards a glowing portal. Kalinth’s jaws crashed into Eglath’s head. Rendering him unconscious (and brain damaged) as he’s pulled away into the portal. Eglath awakens clad in metal, remembering only small fragments of his imprisonments, and bewitched by a vexing goblin, intent on enslaving the Worlds’ hero. I am The Ruler of The Nine Realms, Eglath mumbled, as his mind slips away into madness.
